New Delhi: Bollywood seems to be going places and quite literally. A stage show called The Merchants of Bollywood is all set to take the European stage by storm.

With Bombay Dreams Andrew Lloyd Webber recreated the magic of Bollywood on stage and won the hearts of many beyond Indian shores.

Four years later the musical The Merchants of Bollwood is hoping to better that. After its initial success in Australia and New Zealand, the stage show now has its eyes set on Europe.

Writer and director of the show, Toby Gauld has roped in choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant of kajrare fame to making sure that the choreography is as 'Bollywoodish' as possible.

"There is a lot of western influence also that has taken place through evolution, and of course, trying to infuse the classical Indian and our own interpretation of a western form is what I would term as Bollywood," Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant says.

The play has dollops of love, loss and heroic redemptions- stuff that hindi films are made of. Playing the male lead in this stage show is Arif Zacharia of Home Delivery fame.

"It is a daunting task everyday, and I always find live theatre more demanding and more challenging, cinema and television tends to corrupt you a little as an actor," says actor Arif Zakaria

So Bollywood enthusiasts get ready as Merchants of Bollywood starts touring Europe from October 24.
