MPs ATTACKED: BJP workers protesting against the expelled MPs who voted with the UPA during the Trust Vote.
New Delhi: Expelled BJP MPs who voted with the UPA during the trust vote continue to face the ire of party. While the BJP will soon be replying and sending a written complaint to the Speaker’s office, BJP MP Ashok Argal is busy spilling the beans.
In an exclusive interview with CNN-IBN, Argal said it was SP leader Amar Singh who had planned the ‘cash for vote’ operation.
"We went to his (Amar Singh) house, picked up the money and then came to Parliament,” Argal said.
That apart, for the second day in a row, offices and residences of expelled BJP MPs were targeted by angry BJP workers. They were in no mood to either forgive or forget and it became clear that the sanction came from the top brass.
BJP Spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, “It is now the duty of the PM and Sonia Gandhi to provide security to all of them."
The party is also upset with those who had been entrusted with the responsibility of garnering the votes. Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has been summoned to the Capital to explain why three LS MPs from the state defied the party whip.
For the BJP it has become important to send out a strong signal that it would not compromise with discipline and loyalty, a few months before the General Elections.
The party also wants to end out a message that the party leadership is not condemning these acts of violence on the rebel members of Parliament.
