Farmers continue to face difficulties in Maharashtra.
It is painful to see the young man taking the yoke on him in place of a bull. It is equally sad to sit and eat thinking of the inhuman condition of a fellow human doing the unthinkable to produce my share of food.

The program The Dying Fields was aired on PBS TV presented by WideAngle a few nights ago ( August 30, 2007 ? ) It was very informative about the plight of the farmers in Vidarbha. How would one make a donation from the US? i.e. a cheque in dollars?

It is really shame for every Indian when I read the plight of the farmers of India . We all should appreciate the work done by by CNNIBN. Well without writing long mail I will request you either to give me the address where I could send some donations. It is the drops which make the ocean. I do appeal to every Indian to come forward for this bobele cause. At the same time we got to rise to get rid of this rotten system. We got to create the exmaples by punishing the people responsible to make the life miserable of the back bone of India, the farmers. Ashok

Thanks For the Coverage.Its really sad to see that the Farment who provide us with Food, are fighting so much.They are buring their blood to survive. And here in the city we are justing waisting money. More that donation I think we need to do and do something ourself. Look at basics.Their source of income and distrubution system. Millon of ton of Onin are jus thrown away. I think with the help of internet we can make a group and really work out something, even after staying in different part of the country. The goverment and sp the local MLA shoud be questioned.

Thanks to CNN-IBN for bringing the plight of Vidarbha's farmers in light.I am from that region only,so i know severity of the problem.The goverment sitting in Bombay is just heartless,they are not doing anything to stop farmers from commiting suiside.I m going to donate the amount...
