Fire breaks out at Kolkata's Writer's Building

FIRE AT WRITER'S BUILDING: The fire department, which deployed 10 fire engines to put out the fire, says there is lack of proper fire safety measures in the building.
Kolkata: A fire broke out at the historic Writer’s Building in Kolkata.at 7am. This building serves as the administrative center for the state of Bengal. The Chief Minister’s office is also located in this building.
The fire was detected when smoke started coming out from the third floor.
Though no casualties have been reported, the important documents on the third floor are believed to have gutted.
Smoke is the main concern right now. Though the fire has been put out, the smoke is still coming out of the building.
The fire department, which deployed 10 fire engines to put out the fire, says there is lack of proper fire safety measures in the building. The cause of the fire is still not known.
Meanwhile, District Commissioner, Damayanti Sen says the fire at the building is under control now.
Though, the working hours of the administrative building will not be affected due to the fire, traffic has been disrupted for a while.
