Mumbai: Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss is trying his best to spread social awareness but with a little help from movie stars.

On Wednesday, Ramadoss once again took on Bollywood stars at large – and Shah Rukh Khan in particular – over alcohol.

In reaction to this, Censor Board head, Sharmila Tagore, requested him to prioritise and address the real issues.

"First it was about smoking, then he spoke about chips and now alcohol. I think what is primarily very important now is that he should focus on real issues like fake medicines. There are lot of drugs that are fake and it's a known fact, which is actually causing a lot of problems," said the Censor Board chief.

This is not a first for Ramadoss, though. Back in January this year, he urged Shah Rukh Khan not to smoke in public spaces.

“I have already made appeals to Shah Rukh Khan and other people and I'll be happy to do it again. I'll be happy to say, 'Please don't smoke in any of your movies, Mr Shah Rukh Khan’,” the Health Minister had said.

King Khan had agreed and disagreed, at the same time.

“One should not go around and pick up small things because that's just cinema and it's make-believe; that should be allowed. We should not have huge censorship in that,” said Shah Rukh. “But in personal life, I truly agree with Mr Ramadoss that one should try and quit smoking.”

The minister then referred to Saif Ali Khan's advertisement for potato chips, insisting that eating chips could even cause a heart attack.

In reaction, Saif had some advice to give to Ramadoss

“I would also like to ask this gentleman – with great respect – to take it easy because eating junk food and chips is part of life,” Saif quipped.

It looks like that the minister's popularity is waning in Bollywood.
