Barcelona: With just 10 days to go before the first Formula One race at Melbourne, the Force India team is confident after the good showing by its drivers during the testing in Barcelona last week.

Force India is a team that has seen a lot of turmoil and the worst in F1. It has changed from Jordan to Midlands to Spyker now to Force India. The team has changed hands more times than anticipated, and now it has the hopes and force of 1 billion people can also open up a new market.

"Ever since Force India Formula One launched their drivers and then launched the car itself in Mumbai, the excitement levels are extremely high. There will be more viewers and I am sure there will be many keenly watching Force India's performance," Vijay Mallya, Team Owner, Force India F1 team, says.

Already the budget from last year has been doubled to $124 million, and the results are for all to see. The team has built two wind tunnels at the factory in Silverstone and also introduced new aerodynamics for the car.

"We have a much, much better budget that has been put in place. With the budget guarantee, we have been able to expand our facilities. So there is a new life, a new feeling about the team, which is great for all of us. We are looking forward to it," Mike Gascoyne, Chief Technical Officer of the team, says.

But with the start of the new season the drivers also have a lot to deal with.

"Challenge especially in the rainy conditions is tricky. It is very difficult to get out the maximum of the car. But in dry conditions, its good to drive," Adrian Sutil says.

There was a lot of talk of no Indian drivers in this team but the management insists that in Sutil and the Giancarlo Fisichella will prove to be a perfect combination.

The team principal Colin Kolles says, " Fisichella is one of the quickest and most experienced drivers in the Grand Prix circuits. In Adrian Sutil we have one of the quickest young drivers."

For the team starting on the grid and having Fisichella on board is a big bonus and the team hopes that power of Sutil and Fisichella will help them meet the target for 2008.
