New Delhi: A day after his conviction in the Jessica Lall murder case, accused Amardeep Singh Gill alias Tony on Tuesday moved an application in the Delhi High Court seeking bail.

Gill – who was convicted under sections 201 (destruction of evidence) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) – is likely to be present in the court on Wednesday when his plea is likely to be heard by the Division Bench of Justice R S Sodhi and Justice P K Bhasin.

In the bail application, Gill stated that all the offences under these sections were bailable under the law and that he was entitled to a bail.

He also stated that he has two school-going children and parents to take care of.

"I am the only bread earner in the family" he was quoted as having written in his bail application. He also urged the court to consider his conduct and past record since the beginning of the case.

The Delhi High Court while delivering the verdict said both Gill and co-accused Vikas Yadav had removed the black Tata Safari car - which Manu had abandoned in the parking area - after shooting Jessica at Qutub Colonnade restaurant on April 29,1999.

The court also fixed Wednesday, to hear the arguments from both prosecution and defence on the quantum of sentence.
