New Delhi: A teaser of the popular soap opera, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki is probably what prompted Arushi's mother, Dr Nupur Talwar to approach the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights.

Arushi's mother has appealed to Women & Child Development Minister, Renuka Chaudhary to ban any movies or serials based on her daughter's murder.

Last week, there were reports that Balaji Telefilms was planning to incorporate the tragic murder case into its prime time soap opera Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki.

Arushi's aunt, Vandana Talwar says, "They are trying to commercialise a tragedy, trying to make a mockery of our tragedy to increase their TRP ratings. They are trying to portray my niece's death as an honour kiling, an idea abhorrant to urbanites. How can you put this on air when the investigation is still on? This is bound to affect the trial. Balaji is trying to make a mockery of us."

Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki is currently promoting an episode which involves the death of a teenage girl.

'Does the mysterious circumstances under which the girl is found killed point to cold-blooded murder or is it honour killing?' — that's the question that the promo poses to its audience.

Though eyebrows might be raised about the plot and timing of this storyline, the producers deny any attempt to fictionalise the Arushi murder case.

As of now the National Comsmission for the Protection of Child Rights has assured the Talwars that they would intervene and prevent Balaji and the concerned channel from airing any content which could resemble the gruesome murder case.
