CURBING TERROR: The lawyer of the accused says, the clients are being framed.
Ahmedabad: The breakthrough in Ahmedabad blasts case has led to forward movement in other blast cases as well. With actionable intelligence coming in, three people have been detained for the Jaipur blasts as well.
The nine alleged masterminds of the July blasts in Ahmedabad hold the key to unravelling some of the worst terror attacks in India in the past two years.
The nine alleged SIMI activists were sent to 14 days in police custody. Their leader Mufti Abu Bashir who was arrested by the UP police is already being questioned.
However, their lawyers say the whole thing is a set up.
"They have no evidence against my clients, they are being framed,'' says the lawyer of the accused, Hashim Quereshi.
But, government lawyers say they have concrete evidence.
" We have evidence against the accused on are responsible for the various blasts that took place on July 26," says public prosecutor, N S Saini.
Police from various states are working in coordination and they hopes to solve cases surrounding other blasts as well.
With actionable intelligence coming through, with the Gujarat arrests, three persons were arrested by the Rajasthan police for their role in the Jaipur blasts.
Intelligence sources admit a lot more arrests could be made in the next few days across the country, establishing SIMI's pan India presence.
