Bangalore: It's been an emotional and anxious 25 days, but Mohammed Haneef's wife, Firdaus Arshiya, has weathered the storm bravely, confident of her husband's innocence.

With the charges against him dropped, Firdaus can hardly contain her joy. She is eagerly waiting to introduce their one month-old daughter to her husband.

"I am extremely happy that the truth has finally come out. I am thankful to the Prime Minister and I am waiting for a bridging visa. I don't want him to be deported. He is likely to come back home in two or three days.

At Haneef's mother's home too, the joy is palpable. After 20 days, the family finally came out to to celebrate.

Says Haneef's sister, Sumaiya, "We are extremely happy that my brother has been released. I don't know what to say. I can't express the joy. All I can say is that we knew from Day One that he was innocent and we had faith in God."

The saga of Haneef's case may have come to an end, but the blot of terror on Bangalore won't go away so soon.

The focus now shifts to the home of Kafeel and Sabeel ahmed, the other two Bangaloreans held for their alleged role in the Glasgow terror plot -- and their family waits in vain for some news.
