New Delhi: An open heart surgery can be a cause of concern for anyone, but when it's performed on a baby who is just three months old, it can be critical.

Three-month-old Aiman is a restless bundle of joy. But the tubes going through her body tells a different story. Unlike babies her age who on an average weigh 2.5 kilos-Aiman is just 1.9 kilos, and she's just been through an open heart surgery due to multiple cardiac disorders.
Aiman's condition had also resulted in pneumonia and an infection, which made her condition critical, leaving her parents without much hope. Rs three lakh tab for the surgery didn't make things any easier.
Father of the child Bashir Mir says, "We were worried and tried to arrange for the money. Its my duty as a father."
Aiman's case is a rarity, which has symptoms like bluish discoloration, low weight, fast breathing and sweating while feeding in babies is usually fatal. For Aiman's family this open heart surgery has been a miracle.
"I am happy she is going home with us," says her mother Irfat Khan.
For three-month-old Aiman and her family it’s been a constant struggle.
It took two complicated surgeries to save her life. But no one's complaining. What matters now is that she is healthy ad ready to go back home in Srinagar.
