Drink plenty of fluids. Even if you think you're drinking a lot, it's probably not enough.
Get as much rest as possible. You'll be much better equipped to withstand the heat if you're well rested.
Don't do strenuous work during the hotter parts of the day. Put it off until early morning or late evening.
Wear a hat or scarf. Much heat is absorbed by your body through your head in direct sunlight.
Cool off at least once per day. Go to a pool, go to the mall, or go to a movie theater, if you don't have air conditioning.

Tips:

While fans can help, they are virtually worthless in temperatures above 90 degrees, or when the humidity exceeds 35 percent. Fans can dehydrate you, so drink extra fluids
