STRESS BUSTER: Following some simple tips can help you tackle fatigue.
New Delhi: Feeling tired at the end of a long day is normal, but feeling fatigued all day could spell trouble for you.
Twenty-six-year old Hirayana suffered from the same problem and he figured out that only last year. Tired of feeling tired, Hiranya decided to exercise the fatigue away.
“Majority of young professionals complain of fatigue. Fatigue is not a disorder in itself but a symptom,” says nutritionist, Max Health Care, Charu Dua.
Says Dorry, “Earlier I would come home dead tired, had just about enough stamina to watch TV for a bit and used to doze off in front of it. Then some one egged me on to begin working out. There has been no looking back since then. Not only do I feel more energised but also fitter.”
So you think fatigue has taken a toll on you, here are some ways of tackling it:
- Not just exercising but keeping track of what you are eating is also a great way to tackle fatigue.
- Have small meals though the day. Cut down on carbohydrates and fill up on proteins. In fact proteins should form 30 per cent of your diet.
- Fill up on fibre including whole grains, pulses and vegetables. These will release energy slowly and keep you going through the day. And don't forget your dose of Vitamin B everyday.
And while you are making sure you eat right, don't forget to drink six to eight glasses of water everyday. Dehydration and with it, loss of electrolytes is one of the major reasons why we feel tired.
Also, avoid coffee and cola especially in the afternoon. The caffeine will remain in your blood stream till late evening and this could mean a night of bad sleep only triggering fatigue.
