New Delhi: He's an artist whose market has risen steadily and hasn't shot up suddenly. That makes it a stable bet for investors. In art of investing this week, CNN-IBN takes you through Satish Gujral's latest works.
With the first solo show in 6 years, one notices the much-wanted freshness waiting to be seen in his works. Satish Gujral does not disappoint.
The freshness in his work comes with the use of the latest symbol in his works - the buckle, the belt and sometimes, keys. Signifying the release of energy and liberation from an expected style, the master has certainly moved on and broken away from the fear of being called cliched.
"I want to prove my being, when you live in a silent world, the consequence is you may soon lose belief in your own self,” says artist, Satish Gujral.
And it's not the sculptures in bronze and gold that speak his new language. Even his canvases which would otherwise be multi layered with figures, have suddenly gone minimalist.
"The more you grow, you learn to say less with more meaning,” says Satish.
However, even as the figures gradually vanish from his canvas, the costs double up. For interested buyers, the paintings are between Rs 18 lakh to Rs 65 lakh. And the sculptures between Rs 8 lakh to a crore rupees are available at the Lalit Kala in the Capital.
