New Delhi: Sheila Verma, 24, is HIV positive, a widow and a mother of a young child who has allegedly been taken away by her in-laws.

Verma’s tragedies began last year when her husband died of AIDS and soon after her one-and-half year old son was taken away. Her in-laws allegedly beat her up and threw her out of the house.

She filed a case in a Delhi courts for custody of her son and her life now revolves around the Patiala House Court complex in Delhi. Having lost her husband she is haunted by the thought of losing her son too.

"I miss my son. I want to Holi with my son but they won’t let me. I hope I can see him," she says.
