New Delhi: The humble former president of India who gained popularity as the ‘people’s president’ and for children as ‘Chacha Kalam’ is now back to his teaching profession.

Former president A P J Abdul Kalam expressed satisfaction over his new role of a teacher. "Now I am a teacher," Kalam told PTI.

Talking about his vision 2020, Kalam said he would work towards making India a developed and powerful nation. This would be possible when impartial and integrated development took place in rural and urban areas, he noted.

The former President advocated similar development process in the fields of agriculture, service and industry sectors.

He said he has faith in the country's new generation, "which has good scholars and meritorious students".

There would be no place for corruption, exploitation of children and women and poverty in a country of his dreams, Kalam, popularly known as the 'missile man', said.

He also answered children's questions, gave autographs and posed for pictures with them.
