Bangkok: The IIFA Awards were announced on Sunday evening in Bangkok.

The red carpet turned green for the IIFA awards in Bangkok on Sunday night as stars walked in wearing their designer best. And leading the pack were the Bachchans. Aishwarya wore a bright red off shouldered dress and Jaya Bachchan sported an understated off white saree in contrast. AB and AB's baby played it safe, not only with their black suits but with their comments too.

Talking about IIFA, Amitabh said that it was wonderful to see Indian cinema appreciated. Abhished added, “I am very excited and not bothered if I win.”

Meanwhile if the cupid struck Ash and Abhishek held hands all evening, then Akshay Kumar refused to let go of wife Twinkle. However many wondered why he did not take his sunglasses off at night.

Akshay clearly saw no reason not to wear his sunglasses. However, talking about his performance at IIFA, he said, “I will try and entertain the audience.”

And that's exactly what Arshad Warsi and Tushar Kapoor were looking forward to. “I hope there are good performances and no one bores us,” sais Arshad Warsi.

Tusshar Kapoor too seemed eager to watch all performances. However, he said, “I am looking forward to Kareena's performance the most because she's gorgeous.”

Many Bollywood actors including Saif Ali Khan, the Lovestory couple, Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra came in for the event and made quick exits.

However, the hottest couple of the evening had to be Ranbir Kapoor at his sauve best and Deepika Padukone who looked stunning in her electric blue off-shouldered ensemble.

The green carpet also saw, Neil Nitin Mukesh in all black, Dia Mirza in a yellow dress with black embroidery, Zayed Khan in a purple suit, followed by father Sanjay Khan, Southern siren Shreya Saran in bright pink, A R Rahman with his wife and Suniel Shetty who was as good as usual.

Meanwhile, yesteryear actress Mumtaz, who was there to receive the lifetime achievement award said, “Don't ask me how I am feeling, that's very common.”

Although the point is well taken but it seems she forgot to tell this to son-in-law Fardeen Khan who went around asking everyone the same question.

It would have been difficult to tell how everyone was doing, but actor Vivek Oberoi seemed to be doing just great although he didn't look half as great with his new look!

Another person in dire need of the designer touch was Ayesha Takia who was dressed in something frilly. “It's a vintage dress that my mom got,” said Ayesha.

Meanwhile Govinda played the good family man as he nudged his daughter to face the camera. It seems there is yet another star kid in the making.
