Although I appreciate Manasi's decision to turn down the offer, I agree with Benedict. It appears more like being a "show-off" personality to have blocked a seat in IIM and then moved on to pursue music. People who get into IIMs would have specific desires and goals. As expected and planned, many people would only look at her with great awe as she has a degree in IIM and still moving on to music.

I appreciate Manasi's decision. Very rarely people can be courageous enough to do what they want. There are many others like her who have sacrificed their careers in the "other" worlds to pursue a music career. Well, not all were publicized nor did they want to do so. Carnatic musicians always have the brains and brilliance (carnatic music requires this for someone to be professional) to pursue any other career, but it is by choice that they stick to the music career.

Very interesting but also can expect such surprises...Value is a value only when the value of the value is valuable to you! Remind me when Smt(the late) Malathi Bolar,a Management Consultant refused a World bank assignment ( international assignment) to serve India as Director of Natural Rescources

excellent show Mansi! in this age of mercantilism, very few listen to their heart and follow their interests. you have shown following one's dream is more important than anything else in one's life. once again my heartiest wishes.

I aggree with benedict. People who are passonate about their music/dance/others can persue their education in non IIM schools as many are struggling day and night to get into IIMs.However she being so educated should think about the practical scenarios and give others the opportunity to learn in IIMs. I honestly appreciate her interest but not at the cost of blocking one seat in IIMs. almost 50% of the seats are reserved for so called OBC and others and others .............. She should atlease guide others in this matter rather being a overnight hero by rejecting 1 crore(not a big deal!)

Well this si regarding oyur comments about mansi. Well you seem to be just so desperate to get into IIM or may be a failur to get there. She got into IIM, and she turned down the job it doesnt mean she has blocked some others getting into the IIMs. She had talent and intelligence and she got through. what do you think all these IITians and IIM guys do? all that they do is slog for some foreign company which pays them in dollars or euros or pounds. But she has turneed down the offer to dow hat she wants to do .She can use her analytical skills she ahs learnt from IIM and collaborate with her creative skills and make a unique achievement for our own country and society. What she wants to do is more more better than what you snobbish people aim for.. an appartment, car, children(for the sake of having them ), and money money and more mone!! Yucks.. India doesnt need slaves of MNCs.. but some creative talent like Narayanmoorthy or Mansi who can be competent enough for those MNCs..

It is a surprising news.Presently when money matters the most in people's life and passion has been kept on the back burners, this is the best initiative by Manasi to show the world that one should live his passion also, as this is the projection of our inner self.
