Crans Montana: Indian golfer SSP Chowrasia posted a creditable three-under 67 to move to tied 32nd after the third round of the Omega European Masters here.
The par for the course was changed to 70 after a par-four was converted to par-three on account of water-logging.
Scot Richie Ramsay shot a six-under 64 to take the lead ahead of Paul Lawrie (67) and Danny Willett (68).
Ramsay was 11-under with Lawrie and Willett at 10-under.
2010 Asian Tour Rookie of the Year, Rikard Karlberg of Sweden and Australia's Marcus Fraser, currently second on the Asian Tour Order of Merit are among the nine players bunched in equal eighth place on 205.
Play was suspended for an hour and 40 minutes due to thick fog in the afternoon but when it resumed, Chowrasia was delighted to be greeted by the good weather conditions at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club.
"It was really very easy out there today as it was so tough the last two days," said Chowrasia.
The two-time Asian Tour winner had to battle through testing weather conditions over the opening two rounds and he only managed to make it to the weekend rounds right on the cutline.
Chowrasia, however, took advantage of the benign conditions to mark his card with five birdies and two bogeys to stay eight shots back of Scottish leader Richie Ramsay with his three-day total of three-under 209.
"Today's weather was excellent and I really enjoyed myself out there. It's expected to get better tomorrow and who knows I may be in for a chance," said Chowrasia.
Meanwhile compatriot Jyoti Randhawa, who is India's other representative at the 2.1 million euro showpiece, hoped that to shake off fatigue and close his campaign with a commendable result. The eight-time Asian Tour winner signed for a 71.
"I was struggling today and I was not really focused as I was tired," said Randhawa.
"I haven't played for two months and my body is stiff. I really need to get back into the momentum," added the golfer, who was Asia's number one in 2002.
