New Delhi: Michael Jackson's physician, Doctor Conrad Murray on Tuesday was sentenced to four years in jail. Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for having given Jackson an overdose of the anesthetic propofol on the June 25, 2009 to help him fight chronic insomnia.
The Prosecutors also want Murray to pay more than $100 million to compensate the Jackson family for the star's loss of earnings from his comeback show.
Murray has been in jail since he was convicted on November 7.
Prosecutors David Walgren and Deborah Brazil wrote that Murray has shown no remorse for Jackson's death and has placed blame on others, including Jackson himself.
In their memo, prosecutors said Murray "acted as an employee and as a drug dealer and completely corrupted the trust necessary in a proper doctor-patient relationship."
