EA Sports has finally done it. Agreed, FIFA 12 was a success but one that came with very many frowns. But FIFA 13 with its new features has cemented FIFA's status as the world's best football game both on and off the pitch. With apologies to PES 2013 fans, EA Sports' FIFA 13 is the ultimate in football gaming action.
EA Sports has been able to fine-tune every aspect of the game after years of hard work. Every year they kept trying something different and adding something to their game, and now FIFA 13 is one of the most realistic games for any football freak. The game offers a new dimension compared to last years version. The player stats now reflect their real-life counterparts, and EA Sports has managed to improve dribbling drastically. The commentary is the best it's ever been, thanks to Martin Tyler and Alan Smith. The biggest change in this year's game is ball control. Players can no longer expect perfect first touches, and whether you are Lionel Messi or Andres Iniesta you are bound to make mistakes. Poor passes to average players may result in loss of control. This adds unpredictability and excitement to game play. Whether you master the art or not, the computer will give you a run for your money. The career mode is similar to FIFA 12 but small changes have helped make the experience much more realistic and dynamic. Now, as a manager, it's possible for you to manage both clubs and national sides. There is also a new and improved transfer market which involves player swaps and a transfer price can be impacted keeping in mind player's morale and form. All of this is good, but what really makes FIFA 13 better than the previous edition are plays and sounds on the pitch. The TV-style presentation is even better than an already strong FIFA 12. There's more flow to the action on the pitch, and more excitement as attacks build. In short, FIFA 13 is more of an action-packed game than previous editions. Rating: 4/5
