Friday Release: Richard Gere's 'Arbitrage'

New Delhi: Writer Nicholas Jerecki is turning a feature film director with Arbitrage. His first film stars Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth and Brit Marling in the lead roles.
The film is expected to be a suspense thriller where the characters get to understand each other in an unfavourable condition. The basic story line revolves around the theme of love, betrayal and cash.Richard Gere is playing a 60 year old New Yorker who is considered as the symbol of successful businessman. Very contrary to a successful businessmans image, his personal life also appears to be very happy and healthy. Geres character is called Robert Miller, who looks cool, calm and composed at the first glance, but is actually worried about his banks investigations about his business. The man is constantly under the fear that the bank will sooner or later find out about his economic frauds.Ellen (Susan Sarandon) is his wife who is clueless about Millers business ethics and rules. She is also unaware of Millers affair with the French art dealer Julie (Laetitia Casta). Brit Marling is playing Millers daughter who is supposed to take over his business very soon. She is very charming as well as knowledgeable about how to run business empires.However, Robert Millers life gets jeopardized when a small mistake makes him realise the fatal moves he has taken in the past. Though Nicholas Jerecki is said to be a writer turned director but his work is better as a producer than a writer. He has produced films such as Innocence, The Informers, Tyson and The Outsider in the past.Richard Gere has still not lost his charm, and he will be expected to carry forward the story in Arbitrage. His performance will be the deciding factor for the films business at the ticket window.####
