New Delhi: The latest line-up of Sony's BRAVIA TVs is powered with some of the best features that provide incredible sound, immersive 3D experience, one-touch connectivity with a huge range of apps in distinctive design. But there in one groundbreaking technology that Sony is boasting about, the Triluminos Technology.
Unique to Sony, The TRILUMINOS Display provides a heightened sense of depth to images, showcasing colours as they should be. This next-generation back-lit technology expands the gamut of viewable colours, reproducing natural shades for a more vivid, richer, and more intense range that's as close to reality as television gets.
TRILUMINOS Display creates incredibly true, natural shades of colours - just the way you want to see them. The red and emerald green hues are displayed beautifully. The landscapes and seascapes look more vivid, richer and more intense. The technology expands the range of colours enriching your viewing with a wider palette of rich and natural colours. Compared with ordinary TV displays, reds are more vivid and life-like, hard-to-reproduce greens and blues look more natural.
Sony's new Triluminos displays are the first consumer devices (let alone TVs) to make use of quantum dots - a semiconductor technology that uses "tuned" nanocrystals so small that they exhibit quantum properties, emitting light only at predetermined wavelengths. The resulting displays reportedly see as much as a 50 per cent increase in colour gamut, or the range of colours that the screens can reproduce.
Sony's approach uses an uncoated LED inside a thin glass tube packed with red and green quantum dots supplied by Massachussetts Company QD Vision. When the dots get blasted with electricity, they only emit light at their characteristic wavelengths, which, combined with the blue light from the LED, form a white light that's more intense at those three points. The resulting mix is easier to filter, letting more vibrant colours show through.
Sony has introduced this technology in its BRAVIA X9004, X9000, W950A, W900A and W850A Series.
Along with Triluminos technology, the BRAVIA TVs also have X-Reality PRO advanced image processing engine, bass reflex speaker, Sense of Quartz design, 3D experience, One-touch connectivity via NFC and huge range of videos, music and apps through Sony Entertainment Network.
