New Delhi: The pace at which your participation in the first IBNLive Movie Awards is growing is really heart-warming. We are grateful for your cooperation, but the purpose is still not served. You need to shower your blessings for some more time as the voting is open for some more time.
Our parameters were very clear since the beginning that we didn't want to feature any name just because they were hit or were marketed well. Everything had to be dependent on the quality of the product, and the earnestness of the actor.
We decided to create a group of like minded people who understood the nuances of filmmaking and acting. We consulted experts of the respective field and asked for their help in compiling the list of final nominees. They didn't disappoint us and we got names which were known for serious stuff and versatility.
Once the names were finalised, we made it public and left it on the readers to judge the champion among the champions.
The five names which made it to the list of final five in the Best Supporting Actor category are Nawazuddin Siddiqui (The Lunchbox), Saqib Saleem (Bombay Talkies), Zeeshan Ayub (Raanjhanaa), Varun Sharma (Fukrey), and Prithviraj (Aurangzeb).
These actors were so powerful on the screen that it was difficult to think that they were actually not the protagonists.
The voting trends suggest that Nawazuddin Siddiqui has fetched the attention of the most number of voters. He is leading the race with 54.36 percent vote share. Zeeshan is trailing behind Nawazuddin with 23.41 percent vote share. Prithviraj Sukumaran is at the third spot with 10.31 percent votes. Varun Sharma and Saqib Saleem are at the 4th and 5th place respectively with 8 and 3.91 percent votes.
However, this doesn't mean Nawazuddin is going to have it easy as others are getting remarkable attention from their fans.
