New Delhi: No Galaxy Nexus for Indians! Yes, you read it absolutely right. Samsung has announced that the company is not going to launch the Galaxy Nexus smartphone in India. "The Galaxy nexus will not be launched in India," said Samsung in a tweet reply on its Samsung India Twitter page. This is for the first time that the company has officially denied the launch of the Galaxy Nexus in India.
For those who are not able to recall, the Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone to run Google's Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system. The phone was unveiled by Samsung and Google at an event in Hong Kong on October 19, 2011.But with this recent announcement by Samsung, the big question that comes up is that after making several promises for a long time, why Samsung has now officially denied the launch of the Galaxy Nexus in India? And, that too in a tweet reply i.e., when asked about the much-awaited phone. What should have come as a tweet from Samsung, came in the form of a tweet reply. It seems like Samsung has stopped taking its Indian buyers seriously or, say, it has taken them for granted. As a responsible company, Samsung should have divulged this piece of information themselves, and not when asked by people. But, here is a nugget that now plays a prominent role after Samsung has announced not to launch the Galaxy Nexus in India. A few days back, a Samsung insider, on the condition of anonymity, told the Galaxy Nexus was in the testing phase and would hit the Indian market by the end of April. If this is the case, then what's the catch? Moreover, this is not happening for the first time that a Nexus device is not being released in India. The first in the Nexus series was the 'Nexus One,' which was not launched in India. Then the 'Nexus S' came, which was released in India after several months of its global release. The Galaxy Nexus is the third phone in this Nexus series, and this is also being kept away from Indians. There seems to be no logical reason behind this action. On the one hand, Samsung considers India a very important market and claims to give great importance to the country. But this move is disappointing. Technology buffs are relating this decision with the launch of the Next Galaxy phone (The Galaxy S III), but there seems to be no justifiable reason to take into account. We reached to Samsung for a statement on this matter, but we have not received any reply back from them as yet. We will update you as soon as we get any information from them.####@TifosoTuli The Galaxy Nexus will not be launched in India. Watch this space for the next big thing!
