New Delhi: We have been hearing about some defect in Samsung's flagship device Galaxy S III for some time. Users, who are experiencing some problem with the Galaxy S III smartphone, have reported that the phone automatically restarts, at least thrice a day.
It has been discovered that that the issue has only been affecting Galaxy S III models with 16GB memory.
According to a report from BGR, "users discovered that the flash memory in the handset was becoming corrupt and failing, causing the phone's mainboard to die," adding, "Devices were reportedly lasting between 150 and 200 days before permanently dying, at which point Samsung was replacing them with no questions asked."
The report says that a Samsung spokesperson revealed to Dutch site Tweakers that the problem is in a firmware bug that can be easily solved with a small update.
Reports are surfacing that the company is working on a fix that it will release soon, though no timeframe has been provided as yet.
