Sholay as an entire package of amazing scenes is too big to choose from. Continuing from yesterday, we bring to you some more engaging scenes from Ramesh Sippys memorable Sholay.
Scene 4: Its a sequence where Basanti (Hema Malini) is praying to Lord Shiva and Veeru (Dharmendra) standing behind the idol responds to her plight. The popular dialogue when Veeru begins to talk as Lord Shiva and Basanti replies, Yunki
yeh kaun bola? is still very fresh in most minds.Scene 5: Its a funny situation Jai (Amitabh) goes to Mausiji to ask for Basanti's hand for his best friend Veeru. He tells her fibs about how nice a boy Veeru is which in reality is quite the opposite.Scene 6: To establish Gabbars terror in the village and keep the fear alive, he kills an innocent boy, Ahmed (Sachin). His blind grandfather walks into the gathering around the dead boy's body and asks, Itna sannata kyun hai bhai?Scene 7: Its a very morbid scene. Thakur (Sanjeev Kumar) is just back from the market with bangles and colorful sarees and he sees the dead bodies of his family members covered in white cloth. Scene 8: The entire sequence is a flashback scene after Thakur reveals that he has no hands. Thakur gets captured by Gabbar. And Gabbar says, Yeh haath humka dede Thakur and cuts off Thakur's hands.Scene 9: Its a song situation that starts with a little melodrama. Gabbar (Amjad Khan) has Veeru tied up as his prisoner and Basanti at his feet. He orders her to dance to save Veerus life. And Veeru in anger says, Nehi Basanti in kutton ke saamne mat naachna. Scene 10: Its almost the climax. There is a tussle between Jai and Veeru on who will stay and fight and who will go for back up. Jai flips the coin and calls out heads. Its actually a coin that has heads on both sides, so Jai wins either ways. So, these were a few more scenes which truly state the greatness of the film. Watch out for this space for more news about Sholay.
