Mumbai: India's Surinder Singh won the men's 21-kilometre half marathon event of the fifth Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon on Sunday.

Utrenin Kutsi of Finland came second while Santosh Kumar of Indian was third.

In the women's half marathon the top three positions were taken by India.

Kavita Raut came first while Shreeja Sreedharan and Preeti Rao finished second and third respectively.

Around 33,000 runners competed in the Marathon including the 42-km full Marathon, 21-km half Marathon, six-kilometre run, senior citizen run and wheelchair event.

A total of 54 teams from 34 countries are also competing in the event, which has a total prize money of $1 million.
