New Delhi: Across the border, the Indian High Commission in Pakistan celebrated India's Republic Day under the shadow of a security threat.
Security has been increased for the diplomats after authorities received an intelligence warning that suicide bombers have entered the capital.
The threat is reportedly from women suicide bombers.
Pakistan had first sounded the threat of female suicide bombers in 2006 when the Pakistan Police had alerted security forces in Karachi about "potential women suicide bombers".
In the first known case of a female suicide attack in Pakistan, a woman had blown herself up near a Christian school in Peshawar in December 2007. The thirty-something woman, suspected of being an Afghan national, had had explosives strapped to her body under her burqa. No one had been injured in the attack as the woman had blown herself up when stopped at a security check-post.
