IOC votes in five new members
Turin: Five new IOC members, including two women, were elected at Turin on Friday on the final day of the 118th IOC Session.
Beatrice Allen, vice-president of the Gambian National Olympic Committee, and Nicole Hoevertsz, secretary general of the Aruba National Olympic Committee were voted in along with HRH Prince Tunku Imran, president of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, Francesco Ricci Bitti, president of the International Tennis Federation and Hein Verbruggen, executive vice president of the International Cycling Union.
Thomas Bach was elected vice president of the IOC's ruling executive board, replacing American Jim Easton.
President of the European Olympic Committes, Mario Pescante, and South Africa's Sam Ramsamy were voted onto the executive board.
Pescante replaces Toni Khouri of Lebanon and Ramsamy takes over from Alpha Diallo of Guinea.
