Winning has become quite a habit for the world No. 5 Adam Scott, who grew up adoring Greg Norman and harbours the dream of dislodging Tiger Woods from his perch. He shared his roadmap to overtake Woods with CNN-IBN's Himanshu Singhal at the Johnnie Walker Classic.
"This is one tournament that had traveled the world, everywhere. That's a great thing and that’s certainly about the Johnnie Walker," Adam Scott said about the tournament
Himanshu Singhal: Adam how would you rate the standard of competition here?
Adam Scott: Well, there are some great players here. Obviously the European Tour, Asian Tour, Australian Tour combining to make up the tour so we have got a great list of champions. Obviously Vijay Singh, Colin Montgomerie are here in the field this week. They are world-class golfers along with all the other great players. So the standard is high.
Himanshu Singhal: Your assessment of the year 2008 so far?
Adam Scott: Yeah! It has gone well. Winning the Qatar Masters obviously the highlight so far. I have only played four tournaments but I feel I am playing well and I just need to put it together more often, Hopefully here this week.
Himanshu Singhal: Your aim for the rest of the year including the areas you are working on?
Adam Scott: I am working on all areas of my game trying to get better but certainly looking forward to getting to the first Major - Augusta. Got a few tournaments before that so just try and keep playing well so that the confidence is high.
Himanshu Singhal: Any plans of designing a golf course in India or any other business plans for India?
Adam Scott: Absolutely. That’s certainly is one of the reasons for coming. Obviously realised that India is an emerging market especially in golf and my design company back home in Australia have done some courses there. We are now looking to maybe do one outside Australia. So it will be fantastic if the opportunity presented itself here in India.
Himanshu Singhal: Do you have a plan to upstage someone like Tiger Woods?
Adam Scott: I don't really have a plan in place. I just know that it is going to be a lot of years away yet. That’s just the fact but that just pushes me harder everyday and try and close that gap and win golf tournaments. Hopefully one day be the No. 1.
