HEADING TO HOLLYWOOD: Sukhwinder now has two full fledged major Hollywood projects to his name.
Mumbai: Sukhwinder Singh has hit it the big, as the singer is working on international projects with filmmakers Danny Boyle and Steven Spielberg.
Sukhwinder now has two full fledged major Hollywood projects to his name - the first being Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire starring Anil Kapoor and Irfan Khan with music by AR Rahman and lyrics by Gulzar.
"It's a very innocent song, but it's also energetic and stylish. When you hear the beginning, you will feel that you have started some bhajan, it's a soothing number with a style element," says Sukhwinder about the song Jai Ho from the movie.
Sukhwinder also has an offer to sing for Steven Spielberg's new film starring Denzel Washington. Though details of the Spielberg project are under wraps, Sukhwinder will be singing a traditional folk Kutchi song.
"The song is based on a situation in Kutch in Gujarat. I have already done the vocals and have sent it to them. They have liked it, so let's see what happens," he adds.
Sukhwinder shot to fame with Chaiya Chaiya the superhit track from Dil Se composed by music director AR Rahman. Kawa Kawa from Mira Nair's film Monsoon Wedding was his international debut. Sukhwinder also featured on the sound track of Spike Lee's Inside Man starring Denzel Washington
