New York: Support and sympathies have poured in for the victims of the deadly Jaipur terror blasts from the Indian community across the United States.

As they watched pictures of ghastly incidents on their TV sets, Indians were shocked and many who had their loved ones in Jaipur tried frantically to contact them.

Condemning the blasts, in which at least 60 people were killed and 200 injured, Indian National Overseas Congress (INOC) appealed to all communities to maintain communal harmony.

INOC President Dr Surinder Malhotra called it a crime against humanity and urged State and Central law enforcement authorities to bring perpetrators to justice.

Expressing sympathy for the victims, he urged the people to be vigilant against those who might try to take advantage of the situation to damage pluralistic framework of India.

Decrying the blasts in the "harshest terms," 'NRIs for Secular and Harmonious India' called for a thorough probe and appealed to people of all faiths to stay united and defeat the handful of terrorists.

"Our prayers are with the victims and the families of the dead and injured," said Acharya Kumar Podda and Dr Najma Sultana in a statement.

The community demanded apprehension of the perpetrators and harshest punishment for them.
