New Delhi: Former Jharkhand minister and sitting Janata Dal (United) MLA Ramesh Singh Munda who was shot at by suspected Naxalites died in the hospital on Wednesday.
Deputy Inspector General of Police RK Mullick said that the MLA was brought to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences after he was seriously injured in an attack by suspected Naxalites at Baruhatu village near Bundu, about 60 km from Ranchi.
He and two of his guards received gun shot injuries, RK Mullick said and added that the condition of the guards is serious.
Munda, who was a Cabinet minister during the previous BJP-led government, was at a function when the attack took place.
