New Delhi: Jeev Milkha Singh's win in the Bank of Austria Golf Open has helped him overtake Jyoti Randhawa to become the highest ranked Indian golfer in the world.

The win has now taken Jeev to the 71st position on the rankings table, from the 90th position last week. Randhawa, who missed the cut in the tournament, is 74th.

The win in Austria was Jeev's third European Tour title. He had achieved his career-best ranking of 37 at the end of the 2006 season. With the win in Austria, Jeev has also moved into the top-10 of the European Order of Merit.

He is also the second highest ranked golfer from Asia, behind 11th ranked US-based Korean KJ Choi.

Randhawa slipped two rungs from his last week's 72nd place.

Among other Indians, Arjun Atwal is ranked 186, followed by Indian Masters winner SSP Chowrasia (190) and Shiv Kapur (277).
