Justice Bhayana gets HC confirmation

COURT CALL: Justice S L Bhayana will now be a confirmed regular judge of the Delhi High Court.
New Delhi: Justice S L Bhayana, who acquitted prime accused in the Jessica Lall case, Manu Sharma, will now be a confirmed regular judge of the Delhi High Court.
The Supreme Court collegium consisting of senior Supreme Court judges, including the Chief Justice of India has cleared Justice Bhayana for confirmation for the second time.
Justice Bhayana was a lower court judge when the Jessica Lall case verdict was given.
Earlier, President APJ Abdul Kalam had returned his file as the judge’s role in the Jessica case had been criticised by the High Court, which overturned his order and convicted Sharma.
But now, since the Supreme Court collegium is sticking by their decision, the President will have to accept it.
