Nija I dont see a difference between developing Bengaluru and developing Karnataka. And this, I recollect, is what even SMK has said many a time during his tenure.

And CNN-IBN should hold its responsible role in the society intact by not resorting to such methods of advertisocracy - posting this topic as Bangalore vs. Karnataka whereas the whole video is blaring about the equality in development of the city, and the state. Giving such a (false) angle to the news is but misquoting the news itself, and instance of a opportunistic approach to make money at the cost of public welfare.

Be a pure journalist channel - isnt that what CNN-IBN started off to be? So, please be that. State only that which has happened, and not your interpretation of the topic.

Z.Ahmed Why do these politicals parties set their plans during the time of elections. plans of SMK are anyways appreciable.
Why don't other parties come out with some economical reforms rather then deviding people in the name of religion.

shemej A senior citizen was made to stand and shout slogans on the background in order to add "color" to the show, while anchor-person giving the commentary. We all know how such scenes are shot. And if the reporter does not feel embarrassed to ask a person as old as his/her father, that indicates the quality of such minds.

No wonder such a trash is produced! Obviously some news editors have spoon-fed them about the "division between brand Karnataka and brand Bangalore". Happy to know these editors who send the crew to the field, at least have something in their head. Last time one news channel went to Marathahalli (which is around 2 km away from Bangalore Airport) and interviewed a cowherd, claiming he represents "Rural Karnatka" (dont remember which channel). Now guys have gone to RamaNagara which is a fast urbanizing (thus being commercialised rapidly) town, which can be called a satellite town of Bangalore, and claim that town represents rural Karnataka!!! A chauvinist organization which is only interested in making money-- and it is not a secret major share of their fund comes from Bangalore IT companies and one of the major political parties during period of strifes-- IT companies fund them and they talk about jobs for locals (in front of camera). And that, according to reporter is the great urban-rural divide!!! I wonder how do you people manage to get such incredibly XXXX people in your team!

I can understand people are not ready to travel to rural Karnataka to analyse the real cultural divide and the economics and politics of that. I understand it is not easy to get TV reporters with minimum intellectual ability as there is a lot of competition. I also understand it is a "fast-food & half-cooked" type programme and not much can be expected from it. But please dont send a distorted picture to the world just for ensuring a Congress win.

Rural-urban divide is a much more serious issue. It needs a serious approach and can not be subject to a soap opera

Ganesh Would this movement for reservations for locals really gain traction if the prosperity that we are seeing in Bangalore had spilled over to the neighboring rural areas in Karnataka. SM Krishna mentioned that 27000B that IT has brought into Bangalore can be used for the larger development of rural areas in Karnataka. Well that begs the question, what has been done with that money. It seems to me that SM Krishna and the other Congress leader who was considered to be the face of rural Karnataka can and must co-exist. It is important for both urban and rural parts of Karanataka to prosper so that there is no imbalance or ill-feeling towards one another. Look at the other states in India that has not had IT boom like Bangalore. Karnataka must be proud of Bangalore for the progress it has made and Bangalore must make sure that all of Karanataka is prospering.

prashanth What is the truth in this entire topic. it seems to be politically motivated. The difference between a person born and brought up in Bangalore irrespective of his/her language to someone who has come there because he/she has a job there or to study there is the point of divide in Bangalore, one of the primary reason for this being their attitude in that place, and not langauge because Bangalore as a city by origin is cosmopolitan due to its location bordering Tamil Nadu and this would be known to anyone living there long enough, not to a person who is there to make money and leave it to wherever money takes them.
