New Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday fined the Bangalore Royal Challengers and Kolkata Knight Riders for slow over rate in their match played on Thursday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
While the Bangalore team has been fined $1000, the Knight Riders have been fined $ 500 by the match referee Farokh Engineer.
The IPL is being played as per the ICC Playing Conditions and Rules and so any team bowling a slow over rate would be fined $ 500 per over.
In the rain-curtailed match on Thursday, Knight Riders beat Royal Challengers by five runs. In the 16 over-a-side match, Knight Riders skipper Sourav Ganguly was named the man of the match.
