FOR THE RECORDS: The feats accomplished are either difficult, bizarre or amazing
London: The latest edition of the Guinness Book of World Records has been released in London and there is reason for India to smile.
The ambitious Nano car has not rolled out of the assembly line of the makers Tata's plants yet, but it is already in the Guinness Book as the world's cheapest car.
Apart from Nano, the book lists amazing other entries from across the world — like the snapshot of He Pingping, who is the shortest man in the world. Pingping is from Inner Mongolia and is about 30 inches tall.
Posing a fine contrast to Pingping is Svetlana Pankratova. The Russian woman has the world's longest legs, measuring all of 52 inches.
The new Guinness World Records 2009 book, the 54th edition of the celebrated book, was launched at London's Trafalgar Square.
Guinness World Records Editor, Craig Glenday says, "We were very careful and wanted to make sure that we were celebrating their differences and that it was a positive thing. Not just the fact, of point and look, and stare and laugh."
The new edition has some other proud Indian entries too. Shamsher Singh, the man with the longest beard and Akshardham, the largest Hindu temple.
There is also an Indian who wins an entry for being the man who has written the most letters that were ever published and 11-month-old Arushi Bhatnagar who is the world's youngest performing artist.
You cannot miss Xi Shun, the world's tallest man or Manjit Singh who pulls the maximum weight with his ears.
And the person most searched on the internet is Britney Spears.
Another novelty is that this is the very first time that the pictures in the Guinness Book are three-dimensional.
