New Delhi: Budget session of Parliament meets on Tuesday amidst anger over price rise. Despite the government passing it off as a global phenomenon and calling it an imported inflation, the opposition and Left are all prepared to corner the UPA.
Inflation has touched 7.41 per cent, a three-year high and the food prices and iron ore and steel prices are soaring.
“We are ready for all issues to be discussed. I appeal to the opposition to be calm,” says Parliamentary Affairs minister, Vayalar Ravi.
Not just the NDA, but UPA’s own ally, the Left is geared up to make the session tough.
“They have been in power for four years. Why haven't they been able to do anything about it,” asks BJP leader, Venkaih Naidu.
Unfortunately, the UPA's desire to ride high on the 27 per cent OBC reservation will be overshadowed by the rising prices. BJP will also corner the government on the handling of the Tibet issue.
