INDIAN CONNECTION: ‘I like designers who have shown a new way of being Indian,’ says Menkes.
Mumbai: She is the woman who always gets the front row seat.
Designers will do anything to stay in her good books, as did Marc Jacobs after a scathing review of his show.
Suzy Menkes, the influential fashion editor of the International Herald Tribune is in Mumbai to review Indian Fashion at the Lakme Fashion Week.
And what was her verdict about the show?
“I like designers who have shown a new way of being Indian. I am not here to see western clothes. I like Kiran Uttam Ghosh,” says Menkes.
And where was it that she went wrong?
“I am always making a fashion faux pas, the hair is in question,” says Menkes.
