SPIT SPAT: Liz went ballistic on knowing what Nayar’s family was saying about her.
New Delhi: They might be done with their big fat Indian wedding but controversies surrounding their celeb union are yet to die down.
Hours after businessman Arun Nayar's father publicly disowned his son and actress-wife Elizabeth Hurley, the newly-wed English supermodel has stepped in to give her in-laws a piece of her mind.
According to sources to the Daily Mail, Liz Hurley was furious and went ballistic on knowing what Nayar’s family was saying about her.
Reports say that Liz has offered to reimburse the family for a cancelled £ 30,000 post-wedding party and any other expenses they incurred.
“She feels that what was the happiest day of her life has been tarnished and doesn't understand how after everything she has done for them - raising their social standing in India through the roof, for example - they could do this,” sources close to Liz revealed.
Her retaliation comes after Nayar's father Vinod Nayar said that he and his wife were publicly humiliated at their own son's much-hyped wedding in Rajasthan.
Vinod Nayar has now also reportedly offered to help the case in a Jodhpur court that seeks to term the Liz-Nayar wedding as null and void.
“Vinod Nayar said he will send his attested statement from Bombay and asked me to definitely look into the case as making a joke out of Indian traditions is a crime,” said advocate H M Saraswat.
So it looks like this dream wedding may turn sour faster than anyone could imagine.
