nothing surprising in this. it is quite obivious. majority of the indians who are still uneducated and the rural mass, who have benefitted(though not in real sense) will support this. It is only the educated who cry against and those are the most who are commenting on IBN and other such things. obviously, political parties wont be bothered by them, since they form a minority share and most of them dont vote. Any such populist measure will be accepted by majority, and take the country and economy 10-15 years backwards. (remember what happened to BJP rule. all were thinking of a NDA wave but the rural mass, "aam aadmi" showed them the door). Whoever is against these populist measures, please next time go and vote; and even if you dont like any of the parties, there is a 49(O). do that without fail. OCs and educated should take partial responsibility for this situation, since many of them dont vote.

The survey indicates that the majority of the Indian population belong to the "not upper caste Hindu" segment. Which makes the UC-Hindus a minority- don't they then deserve a quota?! Besides, a survey of 776 people from a poulation of several billion? How representative is that? Majority also think that reservation the way it is now is not acceptable and should be based on economic criteria- that is what really needed to be highlighted.

this is a very typical cnn 'madeup' stats posing as news item. cnn does this a lot in america, making up stats of the most ridiculous nature, like 'how many % of men are actually women', 'how many % of men like to wear their underpants inside-out' etc...

The "survey sample" itself is heavily "biased" with 40% OBCs,10% Muslims + 25% SC/STs and only 25% General Category population. With such a bias what conclusions will be derieved except "OBCs are right"! The survey should have been done of an equal number on both sides and ask for the views of people based on "Truth and Honesty" not based on the false notion of "underprivileged" or not. With the Quotas in place the very Quota guys will be the exclusive "privileged class". By the way the Nielsen Survey should have also included "UNDERPRIVILEGED INSECTS LIVING IN GUTTERS AND IN SUBTERRANEAN EARTH FOR CENTURIES"! The cockroaches and ants will have to be given their QUOTA of atleast 45% share in the matter of "occupation" of Brahmins' homes! As regards educational Quotas the Butterflies and Moths should be given 25% Reservation and the Mosquitoes, poor "killed every night" mosquitoes have their numbers reduced to a bare minimum. They should be given their "rightful place in Indian Society". Their votes should also be counted.

John Dayal of the All India Council of Christians Said: "To allow Christianity to prosper is to liberate every single Dalit and every single member of the backward class. Together, they make up 2/3rd or 3/4th of the total so called 'Hindu' population. No group would like 3/4th of its congregation to leave it. No group. The Hindus are going to fight, with their backs to the wall, & they are doing that"

Obvious, when survey samples consist of 75% OBC, 25% FC, how many do you think will be aginst quota? Survey indicates reasonable amount (25%) of OBC think quota is not right, which is appreciated.

This sample size chosen in no way represents the voice of India. CNN-IBN, Rajdeep Sardesai & team have gone crazy!!!
