Rubal Reservations should totally ruled out and every citizen should be treated as equal, this all policy is for the benefit of politicians only, if any child deserves a seat and he is not able to pay then he should be given free education, but no reservations on the basis of caste please.

drphaniraj I think v r creating fuss without realizing the outcome; the forces in action today r overwhelmingly in favor of quotas-so be it. this is trial by fire. Let the country go through it; if quality drops, then let it. We need to see it to the end before we can be sure of what will happen. No one can predict: maybe merit will actually improve because of the competition. The reason I say this is because there is no way out: the poor have been downtrodden for far too long and this backlash is the result of centuries of discrimination. What dr yashesh dalaal here has said is a reflection of that. You may consider yourself intellectually superior, and possessing of the moral right to decide for the rest of humanity, but the rest believe that this is arrogance, and every pride has its fall. This is the age of democracy, and we will see this struggle everywhere. Moreover this arguement of merit and quality sounds hollow and unconvincing; it's not as if only the meritorious alone ever rise in the country, or that the truly meritorious actually suffer because of the reservation policy. The term merit as we Indians use it also needs to be properly qualified: it is a mixture of intellectual ability with availability of opportunity and economic solidity which is responsible for our so-called merit.

dr. yashesh dalal 1. This is an unscientific survey (too small sample to represent the nation, biased opinion of >75% people surveyed because it is human nature to support whatever favours available for free without work/caliber etc..)

2. A SOCIETY OR NATION NEVER PROSPERS IF UNDUE FAVOURS (reservations, free electricity, free houses, free promotions, waiver of loans, subsidies here & there, free loans etc. etc and what not) ARE GIVEN FOR MEAGRE VOTE BY THESE CUNNING POLITICIANS..all these flowery, lucrative measures are actually selfish moves to gain vote and popularity....in fact by doing these, ACUTALLY THEY ARE CREATING A SOCIETY OF FAVOUR DEPENDENT, USELESS, NON WORK CULTURE, EASY WANTING, NON PRODUCTIVE PEOPLE FIGHTING WITH EACH OTHER....ONLY SENSIBLE INTELLECTUAL people (of any caste may it be) can understand this..unfortunately any in given populace only 15-20% represent such sensible people....in old monarchy, these people ruled and they overruled masses in their insensible demands....WE NEED RULERS LIKE THAT AND NOT THESE POLITICIANS to get rid of all these POLITICAL MENACES...then only INDIA CAN PROSPER...such polls even if they represent masses opinion, still should be DISREGARDED..not only reservation...no cheap benefits should be given to the populace unless one deserves it by merit, hard work..etc....THESE POLITICIANS ARE ACTUALLY KILLING THE VERY SOUL OF THIS COUNTRY BY DIRTY GAMES....WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, MEDIA AND JUDICIARY SHOULD UNDERSTAND THIS AND STOP THEM FROM ANY SUCH GIMMICKS (NOT JUST RESERVATION)..OR ELSE ONLY GOD CAN SAVE US....

k sankar you survey is not scintific. You might have asked obc's. you would have asked diffrent people of different casts and publish the out come.
why don't you approch, JNTU HYDERBAD and collect the data of admissions given into engg colleges in AP?
YOU and the nation cleary understands how merit in AP is pushed back?
Stop giving some stupid news for the popularity of your channel. don't hide the truth

ben2lotus your survey says , majority wants reservation- but how many of them - do you think really know as to what benefits the reserved categories will get out of it? do u think it will benefit the least priviledged sections of the society . it is democracy and teh rule of majority shall prevail but the decision has to be a learned one and not on mass hysteria- what is wrong in demanding a review of the benefitss of a policy that has been around since 1947 and yet has not been able to eradicate the nemesis of social inequality. as regards your survey - how about survey on article370 & ram mandir- the result of survey is quite obvious if only majority is the parameter but the true parameter has to be nation's overall benefit and not majority- and this in my opinion separates a democracy from a kabiliite form of governence- the choice is of people and of course media's.

preran Why are you asking all the wrong questions? Of course, those who have been getting the benefit of the system, and they are the majority, will say yes. It is like asking people whether they will be ready to pay for email services now. Once you get people used to freebies, you run into a vicious cycle. Isn't it bad enough that the reserved classes have reduced the whole administration to a farce? Now they want to encroach into other sectors and reduce their efficiency too! Whither India!
