Will Marigold be Salman's claim to Hollywood?
Salman Khan’s ‘firang connection’ Marigold is ready for release.
Mumbai: It seems like actor Salman Khan has finally got his ticket to Hollywood. Bollywood’s bad boy is all set to make his international debut with Marigold in which he stars opposite a not so known leading lady Ali Larter.
The film’s director Willard Carroll's is all kicked about the release of the film and says that a “lot of it was life imitating art.”
“The movie's about an actress who comes to India and ends up being stranded there, has a small part in a Bollywood film, falls in love with a choreographer, says she can dance but can't. We picked up Ali (Larter) at the airport and two days later she's in the dance studio learning the final dance routine,” Carroll said.
The film is about an ambitious actress Marigold played by Larter who sets off for India to work in an English film but ultimately lands up being cast in a Bollywood masala.
So, should we be expecting another run of the mill desi babu pardesi mem kind of a story?
“It's difficult when you come from this totally different style of hip-hop and you come and do that Indian stuff (dancing), but she (Ali Larter) did well,” Salman said.
Marigold is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 3.
