Nidheesh In the psuedo world of bollywood cinema, Rajeev Masand is a torch bearer for movie goers who are tired of being fed half hearted, money brained and downright silly movies. In his endeavour to recognise true potential in Indian cinema he has gievn voice to the quintessential middle class indian who feels cheated at their lack of options as far as good cinema goes.

balroop i fail to understand why people find serious message as something boring and emotional!! Bhoothnath conveys something in a very convincing manner without any preaching or going into unnecessary details, in the language of children which could appeal to them more.Apparently it could not have reached those who find caring for parents irrelevant! it is an excellent movie for children, much better than Mr. India,Mr. Masand!!

AMIT KUMAR Masand is not right he seems to be a bad critics. Even as I am an off beat movie lover, I can rate this movie 4/5 as good commercial movie with clear social message.

BVR The storyline seems to be picked from the short-story "Canterville Ghost" by Oscar Wilde. The story is told in a most humorous possible way by Oscar Wilde. The Ghost gets really frustrated at trying to scare the family who show no fear for it and moreover insult it by trying to scare it in return. Actually, it's a misfit to cast in Big B for such a role ... as it would have been best matched by a full-time comedian like Johnny Walker or Vadivel or Sunil and a full justice could have been done to the story! No doubts in the talent of Big B ... but just its my personal opinion!

Hardik Bhootnath had the message to convey. Frankly speaking it was neglect that parents who have brought up their child face when the child whom they send to study abroad gets settled there and ignores parents. The message was no need to neglect parents if u are a busy bee and making money.

harri Masand has hit the nail on the head. The second half is far too dragged out. Seems the director just didn't know when to leave a good enough thing alone. While small bits of moral interjections (not cheating to win a race etc) are ok and picturised well, the sob story flaskback is rediculous.

Alok Problem with Masand , he wants to see movies like KANK , he can not understand the depth of ButhNath movie , he is heartless man . My suggestion to Masand to watch this movie again with at least 20 children, not with his girlfriends.

Sudipto Banerjee Rajeev is a hard grader! I found the review helpful. I haven't watched the movie yet, but will certainly do so.
Interesting that Rajeev mentions Chota Chetan and Mr. India as the best children's films to have come out of *India*. I would rate several of Satyajit Ray's children's films (e.g. "Sonar Kella" aka "The Golden Fortress" and "Goopi-Gayen Bagha-Bayen") as far far superior to Mr. India in the genre of children's films. Chota Chetan was certainly a good one.

Sudhir This movie handles poor story line and bores with same characters coming to screen every time..Specially second half is totally boring .

Karthik I think Mr.Masand missed the mark this time. I don't think the second half was melodramatically obsolete.. may be the cinematic presentation was a little. The second half raises a question, a very serious question. I am sorry to say that the critic has failed to identify this issue.
