Sahhasra Saagara Prime Minister post is one of the important in indian constitution. But,many who become PM of India have no knowledge of governing and have no interest in prospectus of India.
They do not know how to erradicate corruption , but encourge corruption. They do not know how to make rich everyone , but make people suffer more .
Britisher tried to divide India in two parts called HINDU _ MUSLIM ,but these people dividing thousands of parts in the name of SC/ST/OBC/GBC/KBC.
They have no knowledge of bring down commodoty prices ,but creat inflation.
Fate of a country have link with fate of PM,very few PM had great knowledge of governance but most of PM think of their own personal prosperity or for their party members/relations.
Lord Brahma writes knowledge on foreheads on good people and will forget write ruling power. He wrote PM post on some foreheads and forget write Knowledge of good governance.
Many PM spoiled the name of that post itself and still they want title "ex-PM".
We all should wait for the time 2011-2012 in which a native with knowledge of governing as well as fortunate in acquiring the highest status.
Sahhasra Saagara.

Harish Chandra With due respect to all the comments so far mostly saying big NOOOOOOO , one point that seems to have missed missed is that India is a country of backwards, notwithstanding best brains in IT and highest number of richest persons amongst top 50 in the world. Backwards, in terms not only of caste but in educational, social and economic status also. Some from them can only understand their problems and address them meaningfully. For example Mayawati took a revolutionary step by making reservations compulsory in private sector which opt for concessions from her govt. The backdoor employment by such companies to favoured ones of the politicians or bureacrates is now institutionalised. Who is to gain? Mayawati or aam adami? We had all the so called learned politicians so far but what is the state of affairs? Are we any better in terms of human development index? Certainly not. The person to be the best PM of India should know what the poor and illierate of India want, he or she may not know foreign affairs or finances or what the english media would like him to believe. Mayawati with her first hand experience of all that poverty, indignities and economic disadvantages of being a low caste can make best of the practical PMs. Look at Lalu Prasad who is always derided and made mockery of, has taken railways to such a level that all the previous highly competent (?) railways ministers are runnign for cover. Being from a depressed class or lack of exposure to the so called high society need not be a disqualification for some body aspiring for the top job, particularly in democracy.

Venkat If Rajiv Gandhi could become a PM, Rahul Gandhi can be touted as the next PM why not Mayawati? this very question speaks volumes about the caste prejudice we have in this country especially among the so called English speaking elite and the so called middle class.
why this kind of questions were never asked with respect to the above two Gandhis? Is it because of their lineage? we all know how dumb these two are.

kiran Malhotra Hi Sagarika,
congrats for conducting such flawless discussions. Its big "No" for even thinking of Maya ,Mulayam, or any one as the prime Minister material. Manmohan is the best choice we have under the circumstances and the limitations he faces in this coalition system. He due to his sheer Honesty and softness has managed to make the govt. last. He has admitted that he is a politicians by accident. The world recognizes him and its his honesty that has won him so much respect. The other person we Indians could have thought of considering was Dr Abdul K. Kalam. We desperately need clean people to clean the system.

Suryakant Sagarika and IBN team,
I congratulate you for thinking through especially on the programs that you organise around caste issues.
Most of the english speaking middle class is not used to an open discussion on caste and imagining Mayawati as Prime Minister itself is amongst the non natural thoughts.
I am happy to state that yours is the only english media channel that delivers caste discourse from marginal side as well- Indeed a revolution in the English media.

Best Wishes for the New year

VINITA Maya may not be /not have what it takes to be a PM.NOTHING CAN PREVENT HER FROM ASPIRING AND TRYING TO BE ONE.
If a Lalu ,Pranab,Arjun ,and all Faltus can dream and a SLEEPY AND DUMB GOWDA can become one, then this lady is a politically shrewd.

Paritosh the way she has ruled UP so far, it seems that she is only concerned with the party rallies and the renovation of parks(that too with the money of common man) waisting crores of rupees. Few question:- 1) Has she done anything concrete to increase the literacy rate??
2) Why only NCR region is growing on fast track, why dont we have any Software Technology Park kinda thing in the State Capital??
Being a nation representative is not all about working only for the beautification of parks and roads!!!
If we consider the situation of UP, most of the Engineers leave for other IT Hubs like Bangalore Gurgaon Pune etc. What have all the Ministers done to stop this migration(well so many parks for them to roam around!!).

Anand P. Verlekar Have a respect for the post of P.M. Do you want to spoil the image of our country by questioning about Mayawati becoming P.M.? You want our whole country to be projected as a country of illiterates? Come on guys only because she has come back to power in U.P. doesn't mean that she is a prime ministerial candidate. Have you not seen what happened to her party in Gujrat? Mr. Devegawda has already spoiled the prime minister's chair by doing all the wrong things in Karnataka. Do you want our country to be recognised on the level of U.P. Please for God's sake don't even think of that. If by any bad luck it happens then it will be a shame for us. I will rather prefer Sonia Gandhi than Mayawati.

Regards,
Anand.
