Sudakshina All these comments have highly valid points. What on earth was MF Hussain thinking when painting such offensive pictures?!
He has always had a perverse approach towards portraying women, but this is pushing the limit!
I'm so glad that the exhibition has been stopped.
Its not about him being Muslim that is objectionable, its about what he painted. What Mr Desai said was so outrageous. In fact, if a Hindu painted this,I think the connotations and reactions would have still been just as voluminous. But there's no point in debating over something that has not happened. The question now is, will MF Hussain be let go scot free?

rema my commend on this incident is suppose a hindu painter draws this type of nude picture of other religious god like muslim or christain community, what will be the result.

H.R.Ramachander Why this confusion over sex pictures on the temple walls?
Hindu Philosophy does not suppress SEX.After long research it has concluded that sublimation of sex will lead to over come it and lead you to the path of Self Realisation.Any suppression will cause agitation. None of the temples, in order to convey this sublime knowledge, has used any Hindu Deity or other religion deities.
Well, if you are sexy and want to show of your SEX power,as is the wont of Mr. Hussain, he can use his own family members. . There are enough stories of sexual eploits of Prohet Himself which Mr. Hussain could use in so called art. Why does he choose Hindu gods and Goddesses? Why nobody explains this?

more Amit Jha Mr. Hussain may be a great painter but he certainly has other things on mind too. He definitely has the artistic freedom to express his view unless he starts using this freedom to hurt others. Its a shame that Hindu deities have always been victim of this freedom.

more Karl One never knows an Artists Mind. They dont mean to hurt the sentiments of People but expect people to understand the true meanings of their paintings.I am sure and everyone would agree with me that MF Hussain did not want to get into trouble through his painings!
Lets all of us have a look at "KHAJURAHO" and then banish Hussain!

sagar patil India Should remove the award "Bharat Ratna" which is given to M.F.Hussain

Ramdoss MF Hussain must be encouraged to draw Prophet Mohamed's sexual escapades with His innumerable consorts. That will be an eye opener for Jihadists too. Mohamed marrying his friend's daughter must also fetch good monetary return. Why not try that MF. India can also award Bharat Ratna for this feat. Shekhar Gupta's and other "intellectual" will start talking very highly of him in their talk show.

Lekshminarayanan S It is shocking that MF Husain is allowed to peddle his perverse creations once again. It is good that Hindus in UK are united to stop this menace. He must be driven out of UK and his Indian citizenship must be withdrawn. He must be declared a persona non grata and banished to Saudi Arabia.

more Bhaskar Chatterjee Some Commented: When its there in temple art, why object to MF Hussain.

Here is the answer:

1. Swami Vivekanand was the biggest critic of Hinduism. Missionaries too.But why Hindus respect Vivekananda and not missionaries?

Swamiji even once said: Hindus should start eating Beef. Nobody objects. Why?

The simple answer is: Swamiji was an INTERNAL critic of Hinduism. YES, VIVEKANAND CRITICISED HINDUISM, THEIR CULTURE, BUT NOT FOR DESTROYING IT LIKE MISSIONARIES. HE DID THAT TO MAKE IT MORE RATIONAL, MASCULINE.

Its the INTENSION of the person what matters. The intention of Swamiji and Missionaries are EXACTLY opposite. Same is the case of MF Hussain.

Let Hussian draw NUDE picture of Mohamud. Drawing picture of Muhamud is continuing in Islamic societies for a long time. Even US Supreme court has a picture of Muhamad. Many central asian countries painted Muhamud.

Rushdie's banned book was also based on historical facts. A muslim author from Baghdad wrote a book on the same topic within 50 years of Muhamad's death.

All these are happening because Hindus are disorganized and donot dangle religion like Muslims. Its changing now.
