Saket Khanna The juggernaut that Google is becoming, it is clear Microsoft has to change its ways. Whether buying other search engines is the answer for Microsoft, is questionable. Microsoft needs to introspect and see what they are doing wrong - trying to win against a rival using money and brute force won't always work. This is somewhat a reminder of the Netscape era, but Google has reached a critical mass, and can't be outwitted by marketing, money and cheap tricks.

Madhura kumar As we know the customers taste is more important than the improvement in tremendous technology,it is microsoft's turn to follow a huge customers storage like yahoo! in providing services to all the people in this globe

Ramkumar This is the all-time best newz for all the google fans. Microsoft n Yahoo r having to merge to compete with the monolith called GOOGLE.I am so exuberant n not worried abt the market share goin the combined MS-YAHOO way,coz even then they cannot match the brilliance of google.Google is known for good quality, really useful products. They're good at identifying potential of any business-idea n implement it b4 others even think abt it; Gmail,google-maps r examples for this. They now have orkut, youtube n other lucrative ad-deals,apart from their regular prods.Other firms r now just doing catch-up things. But Google keeps on growing like anything thru innovation, improvement in quality and improvisation. Also now they're the best co to work in &best global brand,so the best minds go to Google. So my advise to you guys the MS n Yahoo is that focus on customer satisfaction, product quality improvement n innovation. All these underhand tactics like mergers will not help u in the long run.You will lose ur identity in the crowd.

srinivas This should be discouraged. It will reduce competition & hence innovation and the customers will be left to accept Orange as Apple.
