Ghaziabad: Men treating walls as public toilets is a common problem across this country, but Ghaziabad administration has come up with a unique solution.
Fed up with the men treating city walls as public toilets, the city administration has installed mirrors on the walls with the slogan "What you do, the world sees" inscribed alongside.
The move is aimed at all those who see a dry wall and feel it's their duty to wet it. The idea is to let people reflect on their wrong doings and broadcast their acts live to passersbys.
“We tried everything we could and when nothing worked we decided it was time to take an extreme measure,” Ghaziabad Comissioner Ajay Shankar Pandey explains the unusual method of keeping the city walls dry.
But the wall-wetters didn’t give up without a fight. They broke some of the mirrors. So the administration hit right back and replaced the broken mirrors with the ones that don't crack.
“It is a good idea to teach a lesson to the offenders,” says a local resident, Arvind Raheja.
Perhaps a better idea will be to construct public urinals at short distances to help the cause of dry walls.
